Void of Course Moon

The Moon is "void of course" after its last major aspect to a planet until it enters the next sign — a period traditionally considered poor for starting new ventures.

What the void-of-course Moon means

The Moon is "void of course" between its final major aspect in one sign and its entry into the next. Traditionally this is a fallow, drifting interval: matters begun now tend to "come to nothing", decisions go awry, and plans fail to develop as expected. It is excellent, however, for rest, routine, meditation, sleep and anything you do NOT want to take on a life of its own. Wait for the Moon to change signs before launching something important.

How to use the Void of Course Moon

Void-of-course (VoC) periods are when the Moon makes no more major aspects before leaving its sign — traditionally a time when new actions "come to nothing".

Getting started

  1. Pick a date.
  2. The tool lists the VoC windows and when the Moon next changes sign.

Reading your result

During VoC, favour routine, rest and finishing over launching or deciding. Once the Moon enters the next sign, momentum returns.

Astrologer's tip Avoid signing contracts or starting ventures while the Moon is void.
