Native American Birth Totem
The Medicine Wheel of many Native traditions assigns each moon of the year a guiding animal — your birth totem. It speaks to your instincts, your gifts and the elemental clan you belong to.
How to use the Native American Totem
A birth-totem system drawn from the Medicine Wheel of several Native traditions (popularised by Sun Bear). Each part of the year has a guiding animal totem and an elemental clan.
Getting started
- Enter your birth date.
- You receive your animal totem and its clan (Thunderbird/Fire, Frog/Water, Turtle/Earth or Butterfly/Air).
Reading your result
Your totem describes your instincts and gifts; the clan adds an elemental temperament. Treat it as respectful folk symbolism rather than astronomy.
Astrologer's tip Your clan element often echoes the element of your Western Sun sign — a nice cross-check.
