Traditional Astrology
A classical chart: the seven visible planets, whole-sign houses, essential dignities and the chart's sect (day or night) — the foundation of Hellenistic and medieval practice.
How to use the Traditional Astrology
Traditional (Hellenistic / classical) astrology reads charts with the techniques used before modern psychology: essential dignities, sect, planetary rulers and the seven classical planets.
Getting started
- Enter birth data.
- The tool reports dignities (domicile, exaltation, detriment, fall), day/night sect, and traditional condition of each planet.
Reading your result
A planet in its own sign (domicile) or exaltation acts strongly and well; in detriment or fall it struggles. Sect tells you whether the Sun-team or Moon-team planets are favoured in your chart.
Astrologer's tip In traditional work the Ascendant ruler is your chart's "captain" — find it first.
